There has been a few times in the past when my question has been answered, or suggestion been declined, or a bug report taken care of, where I know people will post unnecessarily. Not only do they post unnecessarily, but they sometimes necropost. My suggestion is to allow users to lock topics they created. This would help reduce some of the off-topic posts and posts that are reviving dead topics.

Another idea I had would be a general chat forum, but only the staff could read the threads. Kind of like "Player reports" or "Ban disputes" but just for server discussion with only the staff.

nah, a player would lock his/her topic when their idea is wrong or when people are proving them wrong, etc. it will just cause abuse and un-necessary 'drama'.

Example:
Bob: I hate your topic! I think it won't be added!
Tasha: *locks post*
Bob: Why did you lock your thread? Are you too mad that I don't like it?
And so, it would cause arguments and drama, like chris said.

Except they wouldn't be able to respond, except in pm
